St Paul's Trustees

Trustees MeetingWho we are

We are all volunteers who have some connection with St Paul’s Community Development Trust, with Balsall Heath, or both. At present there are 13 of us, but our constitution says we can have up to 20 Trustees.

What we do

We usually meet as a Board about ten times a year, in the evenings. The Board is the overall management body for the Trust and the Chief Executive is accountable to it. We are responsible for agreeing the Trust’s budget and its strategy and plans. We review the work of every part of the Trust each year, and we must ensure that the Trust works within its aims and objectives, and within charity and company legislation.

Apart from attending Board meetings, Trustees may be asked to join sub-committees or working parties, or to help with staff appointments, disciplinary matters, complaints or grievances.

What we get from being Trustees

Although being a Trustee is a serious responsibility, we enjoy working together and get great satisfaction from the achievements of the Trust. Here’s what some of the Trustees have said about what being a Trustee means to them:

“I find attending Board meetings is such a positive experience because there’s always good news about someone’s achievement, service improvements or new developments.”

“St Paul’s being a big part of the area in which I live, it gives me great pleasure to be a part of the Trust. As a local resident, I reap the benefits, so I am pleased that I am able to give something back.”

“I do especially enjoy seeing or hearing about those using our services, finding what in some cases have been life changing opportunities.”

“As a new trustee I have been welcomed and included – support prior to the first meeting, documentation and phone calls…”

If you are interested in joining us…

Please contact Marion Ridsdill, on 0121 464 4376 or via administration@stpaulstrust.org.uk for more information and an application form. Trustees are appointed either by the Board itself or at our Annual General Meeting.

“…if you are new to this kind of meeting structure, don’t be concerned, everyone is friendly and keen to support new recruits.”
