Early Years Playscheme

Balsall Heath Children’s Centre playscheme is registered by OFSTED for 24 children. It provides a facility for parents and children aged 3 years to 5 years old. The playscheme operates during the school holidays between the hours of 10am to 3pm, the times meeting the needs of the parents and families within the Balsall Heath Children’s Centre catchment area. By providing this service Balsall Heath Children’s Centre aims to provide under 5’s care facility whilst engaging children in new experiences and activities.

Aims and Objectives

• To actively encourage the development of positive self – image and positive identity.
• To promote and encourage equal opportunities through games, books and through the attitudes of staff involved with the play scheme.
• To provide a culturally sensitive service for children to meet their individual needs and to take into account the different needs of children by having regard for race, culture, religion or disability.
• To provide an inclusive service ensuring children with disabilities and those deemed as ‘vulnerable and in need’ can access the activities planned.
• To provide a safe, secure and ‘fun’ environment for the children who attend the Children’s Centre playscheme
