St. Paul's Community Trust

Benefits Surgery

The Children’s Centre Welfare, Benefits and Debt Surgeries first began in February 2002. They are being undertaken by CASA (Community Advocacy Support and Advice), which is a full member of Advice United Kingdom.

CASA works hand in hand with the community to provide free confidential advice to everybody regardless of race, religion, gender, disability or sexuality amongst others. They were established to provide independent and impartial advice and advocacy services in one of the most deprived areas of Birmingham. The purpose is to empower clients to make informed decisions concerning their rights and responsibilities and to help them to communicate as effectively as possible. Surgeries take place in and around the Balsall Heath area.

CASA offers advice on benefits; housing; debt; court representations; bailiff problems; energy problems; employment problems and other related issues.
