Educational Activities

At St. Paul’s Venture we run practical historical and environmental themed activities for primary schools, supportting the
National Curriculum.

We find that being able to leave the classroom and work in another setting provides stimulation that assists a child’s learning. Working in smaller groups with specially trained staff, children receive more personal attention and the opportunity to try new activities that they may not be able to experience at school. These include practical sessions on cooking, pottery, drop spinning and jewellery making, as well as the opportunity to handle animals and plants and learn about recycling. We also use costumes and artefacts to enhance the ‘living history’ experience. Our history sessions provide a good starting point for further research and discussion in the classroom.

We can run the sessions according to a school’s needs, However we do have a series of planned activities that schools choose from.

History topics include:
– The Ancient Egyptians
– The Ancient Greeks
– The Romans
– The Tudors
– The Victorians
– Life During World War II,
