COMPLETING THE APPLICATION FORM
Completing the application form is the first step towards gaining employment at St Paul’s Community Development Trust. Please note that we DO NOT accept CV’s or incomplete applications. To present yourself with the best possible chance of gaining an interview, please consider to the following guidelines: -
· Ensure your application is returned by the closing date specified.
· Read the Job Description and Person Specification thoroughly before you begin and demonstrate how your skills and experience match those specified in the Person Specification.
· Use examples from your lifetime experiences and achievements to demonstrate that you have the necessary skills for the post. Your experience could be from home, school, previous/current employment, voluntary work or work experience.
· Inform the people that you intend to use as referees.
Applications can be submitted by post to the address on the application form. Alternatively you can e-mail your completed application form to personnel@stpaulstrust.org.uk. For e-mail applications, if you do not receive an acknowledgement within 24hours please re-submit your application. (Please allow extra time for weekends/Bank Holiday periods).
EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES MONITORING
By completing the Equal Opportunities Monitoring section you will be assisting us to gather information that will ONLY be used to assess the effectiveness of our Equal Opportunities Policy in terms of recruitment. (Please see overleaf for further details of this policy).
This information will be removed from your application prior to short-listing to ensure that the information supplied does not have any affect on the decisions of the panel.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
After the closing date has passed, a panel will score your application by matching your skills and experience against the essential criteria in the Person Specification. Where there is a large response to a vacancy it may then be necessary for the panel to use the desirable criteria for short-listing purposes.
Once short-listing is complete you will be contacted via e-mail where an e-mail address is provided, otherwise you will receive a letter by post regarding your outcome. Should you be invited to interview your outcome letter will contain details of the interview and any requirements to take tests to demonstrate your abilities.
Certificates of relevant education and training achievements MUST be produced at the interview stage along with proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
The panel will set interview dates in advance and it is not always possible to re-arrange these dates and times.
