St. Paul’s Deputy Chief Executive and well known local historian Val Hart launched her latest publication ‘Balsall Heath Through Time’. This fascinating book charts the development of Balsall Heath from 1945 to 2005, with many photographs of the area past and present.

It contrasts now and then pictures of the area revealing some of the changes that have occurred since 1939. Sections include World War II bomb damage, urban regeneration, the 2005 tornado, Moseley Road, Ladypool Road as well as a fantastic selection of Carnival images. The photographs have been superbly reproduced and Val’s captions are, as ever, informative and interesting.

Balsall Heath Through Time is available for £14.99 from the reception of St. Paul’s School, Hertford Street, B12 8NJ. To arrange to have a copy posted(free postage in the UK) to you please contact Chris Sutton on 0121 464 1890 or email chris.sutton@stpaulstrust.org.uk..
