We are Chatterboxes pre-school, we run a group every morning at the Calvary Church in Oxford Road, Moseley from 9:30 – 12:30. We have lots of fun and follow the Foundation stage curriculum working hard to give the children a good start in their educational life. We operated from Centre 13 before it closed.
Again this year we had a sponsors Big Toddle in aid of Barnardos, which we did in Moseley Park. We walked around the lake and up the grassy bank to have a picnic and play with the parachute.
We raised an amazing £385 for Barnardos.
On our way around the lake the children were looking at all the wildlife and the most interesting event was that all the fish were right on the surface of the water, large carp and tench, they even put their heads above the water.
We also visited Cannon Hill Park for our trip. We fed the ducks, fished, went on the playground. We bought ice creams for all the children. We went on the number 1 bus, most of the children hadn’t been on a bus before, and they were so excited.
Our other event was our end of term party, which was attended by 47 children, some brothers and sisters came too, plus moms and dads. We had a fantastic magician who tells lots of jokes both on child and adult level.
The children were enthralled, so were the parents. We had pass-the-parcel which was great fun. We had good party food to follow and then our presentations, the children all received a certificate, a folder of their work, and a folder with photos of them at playgroup and the observations we make that shows their progress throughout the year and the parents and their next school or nursery can see. We have places for September; we are a very friendly group, well known in Moseley come and have a chat.
