Deputy Lord Mayor helps celebrate 30th Anniversary of St. Paul's Trust

A special Autumn Fair is being held on Saturday October 16th between 11.00am and 4.00pm to celebrate the 30th anniversary of St. Paul’s Community Development Trust. At Malvern Street just off Clifton Road.

The Trust is inviting all of the local community to help them celebrate this momentous birthday. Friends of the organisation dating back to its beginnings are being invited to join in the fun activities on offer and meet some familiar faces.

Highlights of the Autumn Fair include an opportunity to meet Ashley and Arnold the pygmy goats at the City Farm along with their friends Spike and Gizmo the sheep.

One of the city’s longest running annual community events the Balsall Heath Carnival will be featured in an exhibition of photographs taken by the Balsall Heathan Community Newspaper.

Young people from all over the city will be taking part in ‘Fair Trade’, a young enterprise competition, with the winners taking away part of £1,000.

For art connoisseurs there will be a chance to be an antique sleuth and win a prize.

The Deputy Lord Mayor and Deputy Lady Mayoress will be in attendance between 2.00pm – 3.15pm.

At 3pm the Deputy Lord Mayor will sign the giant birthday card, which has toured Balsall Heath collecting signatures on the way.

Following this he will be presenting the two winners of the Cake Baking competition with their prizes sponsored by the long established Kushi Restaurant.

Finally the Deputy Lord Mayor will go on to launch 1000 brightly coloured balloons kindly sponsored by Lloyds Bank which have been tagged by every school class in Balsall Heath as part of a balloon race with a prize to be presented for the balloon that travels the furthest.
