A recent new edition to the Balsall Heath City Farm took his first faltering steps in the outside world recently. The new born lamb in the company of his proud mother could be seen in the farm grass enclosure frolicking to his hearts content. The phrases “ooooooooo how cute” and “aaaaaahhhhhh that’s adorable” were a constant backdrop to the lamb’s first outdoor experience.
To see more images of the lamb follow this link to a special gallery.
What’s his name?
The choice of name for the new addition to the farm will be decided on March 19th when it will be drawn from a hat as part of a bigger campaign by St. Paul’s Trust to raise funds for a much needed new mini bus. If you would like to be in with a chance of choosing the name for the cost of £1 per entry then come down to the Farm just off Clifton Road at the St. Paul’s Venture and enter your suggestion before the draw.
Farm Open Day on March 19th
Balsall Heath City Farm along with the National Federation of Farms celebrates its 30th year on March 19th. The celebration includes a photographic exhibition compiled by the Balsall Heath Local History Society who will be asking visitors to provide their most treasured memories of the farm over the years.
Younger visitors will not only be able to visit the farm and the animals but will also be able to take part in a range of creative activities. There will be refreshments and face painting and the chance to visit the Autism West Midlands Road Show.
