St. Paul's Community Trust

Current volunteer vacancies

We currently need volunteers for the following roles -

Youth Work
The Youth Base continues to run a club on a Wednesday evening from 6 – 9. If you have the skills and interest in making a difference with young people in Balsall Heath then we’d love to hear from you. The club is being run in partnership with Birmingham City Council’s youth team, West Midlands police Safe Haven project and Pertemps Coachright.

Balsall Heath City Farm
Would you like to work with the animals? Help is required with taking care of the farm animals, we have sheep, goats, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs, ducks and cats. The work involves feeding, cleaning out pens and stables, grooming where necessary and repairs and maintenance of the farm site. We also need help with maintaing the gardens on the farm and in the surrounding areas within St. Paul’s. The nursery has it’s own small plot for the children, we have fruit trees which need care and attention as well as planting other fruit and vegetables for the children to enjoy. Would you be interested in running a session with the children?

Afterschool Club
Would you like playwork experience? Our after school club has a lively mix of children, we need volunteers willing to help escort children from local schools to the club and assist with the supervision of fun play activities. You may have particular skills that you’d like to share with the children such as cooking, sewing projects, sports or other craft activities.

Holiday Playschemes
We provide holiday playcare and playschemes for local children and need volunteers who would like to assist with the inclusion of disabled children. We also welcome volunteers who want play work experience and volunteers who have specific skills such as art & craft, sports, cooking etc.

Chatterboxes Pre-school
Volunteers interested in working with younger children are required for this very busy playgroup in Moseley. The setting is part of our early years services run by St. Paul’s. The group runs weekday mornings term time only.
