QE2-Notice

Penned by: Patrick Wing MBE – Chair of Trustees of St. Paul’s Community Development Trust.

Her Majesty’s lifelong devotion to service and duty, during which she has championed community and civic issues is a legacy which will continue to live on in all charities, (including St. Paul’s) and volunteers dedicated to supporting communities.

The Queen will be deeply missed and never forgotten and on behalf of everybody at St. Paul’s I send our sincere condolences to the Royal Family at this sad time.

As a mark of our respect, St. Paul’s will close all its services on the day of her funeral, which is to be held next Monday, 19th September 2022.

Portrait of Her Majesty QE II

May she rest in peace.

The Royal Family does have a very real connection to St. Paul’s. King Charles III has visited us on two occasions in the last 25 years and on one visit to the school, arranged for a group of pupils who were studying Shakespeare to go to a performance of one of the Bards plays in Stratford Upon Avon. Like his mother, he has a profound and long-standing interest in young people and communities and again we have been the beneficiaries of work completed by volunteers from the Princes Trust, an organisation founded by the King.

We wish him a long and successful reign as the King.

Patrick Wing MBE

Chair of Trustees.
